UCLA vs UCSD

I recently got accepted to both UCSD (Warren College) and UCLA. I was admitted as undeclared, leaning towards the biological sciences (biochem/molecular bio).

I heard that UCSD has a really good bio program, good research/job opportunities for bio, which is why I consider UCSD as my top #1, but I also heard that bio majors in UCSD is very impacted and seeing as I got admitted as undeclared, I have to apply to that major after I finish my pre-reqs to the major. UCSD also got a rep for being "socially dead". Personally, I'm a very lax, chill person, and I don't mind if they're quiet. Tho, I do want to party sometimes too, lol.

UCLA, though, is an overall top school. It's not that far from home, and the surrounding area and the campus is beautiful. I haven't researched anything about their bio program/opportunities. And I'm sure if their bio majors are impacted or hard to get in too. The only thing that leaning me away from UCLA is that I'm not dorming in campus, since I live a 45min drive away from UCLA (and parents are forcing me not to dorm if I go to UCLA). I do want to dorm, to get to live the college experience, and I will be dorming if I attend UCSD.

I live in SoCal so traveling to both colleges is not a problem. I'm going to visit UCSD soon and I can take a campus tour UCLA anytime.

I was wondering if you guys can offer me tips/advice for the bio programs and campus life in UCSD/UCLA
