UCSD vs. UCLA

Hello.
I got admitted to two great schools, UCSD and UCLA.
I narrowed it down to these two schools.
My major is biology.

I already know that UCSD's biology program is very well known.
However, I know that UCLA bio is as good as UCSD's.

So, I want to ask students who are currently attending these colleges or people who know about biology majors in these two schools.

Which UC offers better biology program?

Also, there are many people in this field. In the beginning, there's going to be many people competing with me. How hard is it to survive my freshmen year? Is biology major harder than other majors?

Some people choose to go to lower UC because they think they can get better GPA and go to better graduate school. But some people say that wherever I go, I have to face same amount of work&study. I don't know which one is true...

Please help me. UCs are very big schools and I want to make the best choice as possible.
Thank you for ur time!:)

lol i have pretty much the same problem but with SD and UPenn. I am not a pro at this but my opinion would be La not to say that SD is bad or anything. Visit both schools and see which you like better.

I think both the schools are very competitive, UCLA more so.

My cousin was in a similiar situation, except she majored in bioengineering, not biology. Right now she’s at UCLA, but she says San Diego’s biology related stuff is supposedly better than UCLA’s. She is at UCLA only because if she were to go to San Diego, she would have to start 2nd semester. So far, she really likes it at LA, however, she says classes are rigorous and the competition is definitely a big blow (the high school she went to was not that great).

Visit both, and list what you like about the campus. Then factor in the better rankings/selectivity, and decide which is truly worth it.
