I am currently at a community college in the state of Maryland. I am deciding between UCLA and Maryland.

My major is Government and Politics (at MD) or Sociology (UCLA)
My minor is Public Leadership (MD) or Public Affairs (UCLA)

My plan is to go to graduate school (hopefully Stanford) and work towards my degrees on a joint program (MPP/JD).

I love student government, school spirit, and being involved.

I was hoping to hear any pros and cons from anyone.

Going to school in California has always been a dream of mine. It was postponed because I wanted to stay closer to home to my mother. In your opinion, which school provides the best academics, undergraduate research opportunities, overall college experience?

I am really not a drinking person, but that's hard to say because I go to a commuter school. I believe that still stands because it was not my thing in high school.
