UCLA vs. USC once again!

I'm getting ready to make a pretty tough decision.

I'm pretty confident that I will get into UCLA & USC. I'm not sure whether I want to do business/economics + accounting minor at LA or entrepreneurship/accounting at SC.

I'm looking for the whole package because I want to be able to find a good job that will prepare me for my MBA. Also I want to buy a M3 right after I graduate but thats another story right there. :)

Let me know what you guys think. I obviously know the significant difference in cost in attending both schools but I will settle for whichever suits me best regardless of the price.

Thanks guys.

UCLA does not have an undergraduate business school for the last time.

so does that mean I should go to SC? hah

ucla has a better national name, usc has a more loyal alumni base, but mainly in the la area. UCLA has a grad biz school, the undergrad is business economics or something, very hard to get into

first, where do you want to work. second, what do you want to do. if you want to work in socal, both schools give you about an even advantage in job placement. bottomm line, its on YOU not what school you went to. if you want to work in new york say, then maybe it would be wise to broaden your choices. if youre interested in accounting, i would reccomend USC b/c the program basically molds you into what all the prestige accounting firms want in a undergrad-educated employee.

so you want to find a good job and prepare for your mba? look, im an old man. let me tell you something, dont bother yourslef with worrying about a job now, or what prgram will get you better chances at an mba program. you should be choosing based on personal preference of where you would like to spend the next 4 yrs of your life. USC and UCLA couldnt be more similar yet so different. both of those schools will give you great chances at any job you want in socal (except for accounting). and both schools will give youa good chance in acquiring that m3 you so desire.

just some facts about USC: the accounting school is #5 in the nation according to usnews. the entreprenuership program is #3 accoring to usnews. the biz school is #9 in the nation according to usnews and #10 according to wallstreet journal.

just so you know a little bit abou me, im a USC student studying biz and econ. im a junior and im 21. if you would like to know more info about the oppurtunities and resources that USC can offer you, ask. i can speak a little for ucla too as i had a cousin who graudtaed form anderosn with an mba.

Is it possible to do entreprenuership AND accounting? I'm leaning towards SC because I don't want to be on the quarter system and SC seems to be a better school for what I want to do

yes you can double major in entp and acct. or minor in acct. i actually transferred from from a UC, one of the reasons was the quarter sytsem, i hated it. what do you want to do?

well I really want to do both. I feel that I'm a strong accounting student so I would really like to take advantage of USC's accounting school but I also want to learn about entreprenuership in case I ever want to stumble on a business venture.
