ucla's strongest majors

I was surprised to here it myself to be honest. I actually kind of want to go on a campus tour. I know my way around (with the exception of South Campus, I don't wander into those parts much), but those tour guides seem to be so full of random facts about the school.

our history department is top 10 for grad school. (dunno if undergrad dept rankings exist)

Nah, ranking an undergrad department is just a silly thing if you ask me. It's the same department, no?

i thing any film major would be pretty solid...with hollywood background...

if i went in with undeclared physical science would i get in with a 1960 SAT I, 800 and 750 SAT II's and 4.04 Weighted GPA. Great EC's

UCBUCB:

UCLA: Slight Reach

What about International Development?

How is the quality of that major?

international development studies is an interdepartmental major that draws upon classes from various departments (i.e. poli sci, history, etc.) so yeah it's pretty solid in terms of course offerings.

design! yes..it IS strong. 15% admissions is what they told me at info night. i've applied. and i'm afraid.

Sociology, holla!

But, really, Garkfinkel, Katz, people who studied under Goffman himself-- good stuff. ;)

Hows the music program? I might get in for Piano Performance.
