Anybody hear from the waiting list?

UConn made it to the final two and it was very close, but apparently:

(Engineering * ((Honors * (UMass + UConn + UVM + UNH)) + Northeastern
- Syracuse + RPI + WPI + Binghamton – Tufts)) =
Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

That should open up another slot at UConn for someone on the waiting list. Congratulations to everyone!

MY D got accepted off Marist Wait list last night. Also awaiting UCONN (on waiting list) No word from them yet.

The open house was done very well, and I must say that I was impressed with the campus, the sessions, and the logistics. In a previous post in this thread (prior to the open house), I assumed that UCONN was out since it was the only school w/o a merit award and was twice as much as UMASS; however, my D loved UCONN, and I have to admit that it’s a better fit for her.

We visited both UMASS and UCONN again, and the UCONN came out the winner (despite the UMASS tour in perfect weather and UCONN in the rain). Almost all the UCONN students were covered in mud from their annual oozball tournament (mud volleyball). Anyway, my D has a major that qualifies for the New England Regional tuition program, so tuition is just twice the rate of In-State instead of triple the rate, which helps a bit.

Lerxst, your equation above is correct. The Commonwealth Honors College is a game changer at UMASS, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint. The six building campus just opened up last fall, and one of my D’s friends who goes there says that it’s incredible (I took the tour twice). My other D is a JR in HS and wants to go there. Full Disclosure: I’m an alumnus of UMASS Amherst.

Congrats to all - we can all breathe a sigh of relief now that May 1st is upon us.

D decided to decline offer of admission from U Conn; good luck to all on the waitlist!

My son is still waiting to hear about the waiting list. We sent the deposit into
Fordham but the price is right at UConn. Does anyone know how they are releasing spots?

@collegecrazed96 Girl Scout pride? I’m also a Gold Award recipient. See you on campus?

@collegecrazed96 how did you hear so early from UConn about the waitlist? The portal says a decision would be coming out in late May.
@swellssoccer From responses I’ve seen last year a few started finding out the last week of April, and more as the week’s went on until end of May. Keeping the faith!
