Right now as a junior in high school I have a 3.7 for just this year. I have greatly improved my focus on academics from my past two years in high school. My cumulative gpa for freshmen and sophomore year is a 2.46. I do not want to make excuses for my poor performance for those 2 past years, but I had some family troubles and could not focus on my grades as I should have been able to. Currently this year I am taking 2 AP classes.(AP Chem, APUSH) I have also been swimming and running cross country for all of my high school career thus far, and plan on continuing and hopefully making all-state for both sports. I will be taking the SATs for the first time this Spring, and I am wondering what I should aim for and also if I even have a chance to get into UCONN School of Nursing.

GPA is obviously a bit low. Aim for a 1900+ on your SATs and you have a really good shot at getting in and making up almost for that low GPA. For ECs for UConn, make sure you just participate in a wide variety of clubs and stick to those. Obviously you have sports, but try to join some clubs that relate to the medical field to show how your passion for such a profession.
