@becautious I’m from Mass. about 1 hour away from UConn. I applied for political science with a really low SAT reading score. (English is my second language)
Very true, but we are from NJ…so I did not have that issue…my daughter had never taken any courses through UCON
Hard to tell. I saw my name up there. My legal name is in Chinese so obviously it is not a common name here and I didn’t attend the summer school or whatsoever. My stats are pretty good for UConn I’d say.
Thank you so much for this information. I put in my son’s name and it showed “student.” I put in another kid’s
name from his school that applied and it didn’t pull up anything.
Hello @becautious I am coming in at the last minute and easily get confused by multiple posts. I put my daughter’s name in the directory and it said student. She only applied to Storrs. Is it safe to think she is accepted?
I am praying to the patron saint of college acceptances that she gets in!!
Thank you
I do not believe that finding your name in the directory means you are accepted to Storrs…could be Storrs or could be a different campus.
@becautious This is what it said when I checked my application status:
“As we work toward finalizing our admissions decisions, self-service is currently unavailable. Please continue to check this page in the upcoming days for the latest information on the status of your application”. May not mean decisions but some information on status could be posted soon!!! Hopefully.
Does anyone else have a Pay Room reservation fee in their student center under finances?
Wow, anxious parent here and I must say that all of the various theories and possible clues that are being put forth here regarding evidence of a student’s possible acceptance are quite interesting to say the least. There may be merit to some of the theories, but in reality, none of us will know for sure until the official results are published. I think our time will be better served keeping our fingers crossed or saying a prayer (for those of faith) for good news. All of these posts about what you see on your personal UConn application status page versus what other people see (or don’t see) on their page, or whether your name is in the UConn directory (with or without an email address) I believe is counter productive. Let’s wait and see what happens! Good luck to all!
I for one have appreciated the intrigue and support. It’s a fun process and a bit of cat/mouse but that’s one of the reasons this wonderful site exists, so we all can share a bit of the guessing game to if we choose to. That’s the great thing- if you want to post and share in the discovery/intrigue, great. If your time is better served keeping fingers crossed and prayers, that’s cool. My S and I are doing it all- fingers, prayers, and appreciating the tidbits you all are sharing. PEACE
Just trying to help…obviously nothing is definite…until its definite….but this is what helped me get through the final week of waiting last year! I mean really why else would a girl from NJ be listed as a student last year 3 days before decisions came out?!
I see the Pay Room fee and when I click on it, the landing page is about 2016-2017.
@TLD1267 @becautious Understood, and I meant no offense, and I know you meant no harm, but I fear that there are many who view these theories as gospel and if proven to be invalid in a particular case, there will be great disappointment, especially for the student applicants, who are relying on this information. As I glance at the posts, and see the numerous exchanges regarding what one sees (or not) on their page, the hope, fear and anticipation is palpable, at least to me.
On my portal under financial aid there is a link titled “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance” and the link leads to a page that says “The following terms and conditions are for recipients of a merit scholarship award offered by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. By accepting a merit scholarship award, the recipient agrees to the terms and conditions set by the University.” Does this mean that I received merit aid (even though they haven’t released the decision), or does everyone’s portal have this?
@singer1234 I think it means you received a scholarship and from other posts I can see your stats so I’m sure you did Good luck
If my name came up in the directory as a student and I did NOT choose any branches on the application (I chose “no second choice”) does this mean I got in? I don’t see why it would list me as a student if I got rejected…
Also a follow up… I didn’t take any UConn ECE classes in HS so my name would not be on there for that reason.
@alexj170 on your portal, does anything show up under the financial aid link or under campus email or anything?
@amatos12 yeah under financial aid it says “view financial aid” and “apply for summer financial aid”. I’m not expecting merit because I’m in state. I don’t know if this is important, but under “Finances” it lists “view fee bill”, “pay bill, authorize users, manage payment plan”, pay room reservation fee, etc.
My S’s says under “financial aid” says access not currently available for this aid year….
