UCONN class of 2022

My daughter’s has been like this for at least two weeks - same exact wording. :wink:

@Fl32789 S’s portal updated last Thursday with that change, then lots of changes coming and going last Friday, and static since. I’m hoping tomorrow is the day. Good luck everyone!

She’s an awful tester, but grades are great. On the lower side for SAT’s…but she loved it and is giving it a shot! I keep trying to be hopeful, but inside I don’t have a good feeling. A girl much higher than her in school last year did not get in, and she knows this. We shall see. I wish you all the best of luck!!

My D found out on the 27th in 2016. From what I understand - results are updated on Friday to Saturday. My D didn’t get her paper docs before her portal was updated and we live 20 mins away from Storrs. She applied as Allied Health Sciences Major in the School of Agriculture. Health and Natural Resources. Could be the ‘schools’ within all handle admissions differently. Not that we all want to hear this but, the admissions web site depicts notifications ‘begin’ on March 1st not ‘by’ March 1st. She didn’t end up at Uconn but, was just happy to be have been accepted.

Another annoying portal question, sorry. When you guys go to the Application Status page is there to the left of your name up top a seven digit black number. It looks a lot like a student ID number. If I click on the pay the room deposit link on the Student Center page that same number shows up on the invoice box to pay the room deposit. Not sure if that means son is in or not. It seems odd that the room link would be live if he were not accepted.

SAT’s are pretty big for UCONN - unfortunately they must use them to filter through eligible students for Storrs. I was reading a Junior presentation from a local high school where 55% of the kids that applied went to Storrs and 46% were branched. The lowest SAT score for Storrs from that high school was 1120 and that was back in 2014. This number will increase from the 1120 if the demand is higher I’m sure. When we went to see the Admissions Counselor he said that the new SAT middle 50 was 1220-1370. So 25% of accepts higher and 25% lower. I read somewhere that it’s published that if someone achieves at least an 1120 on the new SAT then they have a 65% chance of obtaining a B- average as a Freshman. Not sure who came up with that one because my D wasn’t a great SAT taker but, did get higher than this bench mark and she’s been Dean’s List A- student for the first 3 semesters at a private college in a really hard major. What we do to kids in our country - so sad. If I had to get in to college today, I wouldn’t get in. So glad that is behind me.

TO everyone worried about portal updates such as the financial aid link and other things, I just called the admissions office and they confirmed that their system has been crashing a lot recently and it doesn’t mean anything. They also said that the MAJORITY of Uconn decisions will be updated tommorow on the portal. Hope that helps :slight_smile:

@emptypockets It looks like a student id number, seven digits long, which is exactly how long my senior daughter’s student id number is. You’re known at UConn by both your student id number and your net id, which are two different things.

im a freshman at uconn right now and last year my portal was updated days before i got anything in the mail. the chances of you getting something in the mail before the portal updates is slim

@blue1230 Thank you

Our portal has “New admit scholarship acceptance” listed under “view financial aid”. We were able to click on it and read a bunch of stipulations related to scholarship acceptance. We were also able to click “accept” at the bottom and choose save. We then got a pop up that stated scholarship acceptance has been noted and recorded. It does not, however, tell us how much. There is also a student ID and my child’s name on these forms. I strongly believe that this item in your portal can be taken as a huge indication of acceptance as well as a scholarship (If only we could know how much!!!)… For what it’s worth, my child is a high stat student who I would imagine is scholarship eligible.

@begosgas I am currently a senior at UConn and back in 2014 had the same experience with the portal and “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance” and the ability to click accept and whatnot. Also was not told the amount at that point in time. I ended up getting half-tuition covered by this scholarship and am in-state with 2180/1450 on old SAT scale. Best of luck to your child!

So who is staying up until Midnight to see if it changes??

Hi, I remember also that other kids in my sons high school did not hear until almost a week later. Again, he heard on Saturday February 20th through mail and nothing in portal for four days. So it really does seem like the individual schools/programs are ready at different times.

I am gonna stay up until midnight for my S.

Why do we think they’ll be released at midnight? And which time zone? :slight_smile:

^^

My bet is they will be released through the day tomorrow starting around 12-2 EST

I don’t think decisions usually get released at midnight for any college but I’m going to stay up anyways. Just in case lol

@YoungOne4 EST, I’m assuming
