UCONN class of 2022

@YoungOne4 Thank you. I was getting bleary eyed reading through that web page.

Regarding “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance” link - does that have to be accepted before the letter comes? Can the scholarship be accepted before the offer to attend UConn is accepted?

I can help. My child was accepted on Feb 12. She got this email on Feb 14:
“Welcome to UConn Nation!
You have worked hard to get to where you are today. We would like to make your next steps to attend UConn simple.
If you haven’t done so already:
Pay your $300 enrollment deposit through the Student Administration System to secure your seat in the class.
Submit your FAFSA by March 1 for maximum financial aid consideration. Then, beginning mid-March, review and accept your offer of financial aid through the Student Administration System.
Explore the details of the program of study you will be entering into this fall.
Come visit us! Mark your calendar for UConn’s Admitted Student Open House on April 14 or join us for our Husky for a Day program.
Celebrate on social. Jonathan the Husky has the right idea. Now it’s your turn. Show us your UConn pride using #UConnBound.”

So there you have it. You will know about financial aid in two weeks. Hang tight.

Any one else nervous as all heck about the $143 Million budgets cuts for UCONN over the next 2 years?! Class sizes will grow and the number of professors will decrease. No new hiring.
I imagine the athletics and more importantly the academics will suffer.

I wasn’t until you mentioned it. Assuming my son gets in, we may have to have a private school vs. public school discussion. He has applied to 3 private schools and 7 public schools. We’re in California, so we know about budget cuts and what’s called “impacted” majors, meaning it can take longer to get your required classes in that major, plus going forward, the admissions to those particular majors is curtailed. I’m guessing that this isn’t the only budget cut they’ve faced. Do we know what they’ve done historically in those cases?

UCONN is very committed to maintaining high quality education. They are definitely still hiring some positions. They are not rehiring some support staff. No raises. These budget cuts are spread across all the campuses, not just Storrs. They are building a new recreation center and I’m pretty sure a new engineering building on Storrs Campus. However, moving forward I can see this cut impacting future building projects that have not yet started.

IIRC the original proposal for cuts was 2X larger

I read today they are selling some property that was a former campus… https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/UConn-Offers-Torrington-First-Dibs-on-Former-Campus-475542873.html

I imagine 95 acres in Connecticut is worth a considerable amount of $$

Accepted to nursing tonight, but not seeing anything on the portal about any money offered. Will that come in the letter later, or did I just not receive any? Sorry if this has already been asked.

Hey guys, I know this is late but I just wanted to let people in the future know that I got rejected and I didn’t have any of those links that other people did, so maybe the links actually do mean something.

Congratulations to everybody who got accepted! Maybe I will see some of you in 2019 if I get accepted as a transfer student.

That was really sweet and very kind of you, @StarGirl11. You have a great spirit, and a lot of class. You will go where you are meant to be. Best wishes to you!

wait so are decisions still coming out tomorrow because neither of my friends or I have gotten anything yet

@maisie525 emails did not come out, you need to look in the portal.

@ygo432 you will be getting a packet in the mail soon

I love UConn hope my son decides to go #3 on his list. Check out this cute video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC9l9lUnCfQ

hi can someone please help me? i am very worried about uconn. everyone i know who has applied has received their decision, some branched some accepted. my portal has not changed at all and i am so anxious. those who got rejected, did they inform you? if so, what did it say? should i be worried, or will more decisions be posted soon?

Daughter accepted to School of Engineering as Civil Engineering major. Shes thrilled…its probably her #1. Im worried about the size. Her other faves were Quinnipiac and U Del

Wendy1367…my daughter was not accepted, and it said it in the portal.

My D was also accepted to UConn (biomedical engineering), Quinnipiac and UDel (biochemistry). Still awaiting more decisions, but she really likes UConn and UDel. We went to Delaware for the accepted students day and it was impressive. Every student we spoke with loved the school.

same for me and my friend should we call?
