UCONN or SBU?

I’ve been accepted into both Stony Brook University and the University of Connecticut, and to the University Scholars and Honors College respectively. I also received scholarships from both, and money is no longer really a factor in my decision. I want to go into Pathology with a focus on research, so I’d like to go into an MD/PhD program, but at the very least, medical school. I want an undergraduate education heavily centered on math and science, and as much research opportunities as possible. Which school would be better suited for what I want and why? I’d like to hear about the strength of each school’s degree (reputation) in the field, strength of academics, availability for research (preferably as a freshman or as early as possible), chances of getting into MD/PhD programs (otherwise known as the Medical Scientist Training Program), and success after graduation, but I’d also like to factor in things like housing arrangements, food, location, professors, etc. Input from anyone who has gone to either of the schools and wants to do/has done something similar to me would be great. Thanks!
