UCONN vs RPI

Hi I am deciding between two schools (the two on the discussion title), on where I will attend next year. My situation is that I run cross country and track, and I was recruited by both of these schools. I honestly do not know what I want to major in, but some possibilities are economics, computer science, or engineering. I understand that I RPI provides better education in all of the majors I just listed, however, I really loved UCONN for multiple reasons. First is that the campus vibe, and how it is in the middle of nowhere, and its a big sport school with a TON of people. I visited UCONN, and absolutely fell in love with the campus and its atmosphere. Secondly, UCONN is a division 1 sports school, so they go up against the very best in the country, and I really want to compete against the best while I am still running, because I know running will come to an end after college, and I am very fearful that if I go to RPI, I will always think “what could have been if I went to UCONN”. On the contrary, my parents want me to go to RPI because of the better education, and the post graduate opportunities it offers. I know they want the best for me, and I know that ultimately education is the thing that will get me a job after college, but I am very iffy about RPI. When I did an official visit, I didn’t really enjoy the place that much, and I thought the people were a bit odd, and I didn’t really mush well with any of them. I also wasn’t a fan of the campus either. Secondly, they are a division 3 school, so I’d already be at the top, which means I won’t be able to improve athletically as much, due to not as much competition. I work very hard, and I am very good at time management so I don’t think school and athletics will ever be too much of a problem managing. I plan to get an MBA from a top business school a couple years after graduating. Any input is greatly appreciated.
