I've recently visited both schools this past week. I'm having a hard time choosing which school to go to. I live the academics at UConn, but I also love the surroundings at UMass.
I need some help with the options.
Can someone tell which one is better?

What would you like to study? Are you instate for either and how much can your family afford?

I have the exact same question. My daughter is interested in studying biology, specifically genetics. We visited both campuses yesterday and today and each had their good points. UMass seemed like a nice fit for her in many ways. The students seemed more laid back, the campus was large with many program options, and there was a nice area to explore in the immediate area. The information session wasn’t exactly polished, but the tour guide was excellent. UConn had a VERY polished, some might say slick, presentation. The building were well kept and appeared to have been either recently built or remodeled. The campus was large and the tour guide was great, but for some reason I felt like it had almost an anticeptic feel to it. I can’t describe it exactly, except to say that it had a more business like feel rather than a comfortable feel to it. Are there any students out there who can tell me more about the UConn experience? I know many people whose sons and daughters go to UMass, but none who go to UConn. There didn’t appear to be much to do off campus, since it’s kind of off the beaten track. I’d like to hear more from those of you in the know.

Well money is no matter to me. I’m interested in business, but also like to be involved with surrounding clubs and activities as well
