UCR Honors

Does anyone know when schools announce acceptances to the honors program?

I applied already for the UCR program well before the March 15th priority deadline, when should i find out?

are you "guaranteed" the Honor's admission? They guarantee people who have a 1350 SAT.

barely missed it, i had a 1330.

anyone know?

1350? damn. 1340. Lol.

sad...lol
but still this isn't fair, this only rewards the smart asses n not the hard working ppl w/ low SATs!

oops i forgot to apply to that? if you're over 1350 do they automatically put you in?

no... the deadline hasnt expired yet though. you still have a chance

eh, it doesn't matter, i cared until i got accepted into SB and Davis, now I'm 100% sure I won't go to Riverside. Come on UCI! (geez, i wonder how many times I've mentioned UCI in my posts)

i didnt apply to ucr's honors program b/c i thnk if u apply then u have to go to UCR. I offered but i didnt want to apply

I got honors UCR couple yrs ago. You dont apply for it. They will send you a letter that you have been selected. I did not have 1350+ and I got honors. I have no idea how they choose.

no sorry i dont mean that i mean they did send me a letter but i dont want to go to ucr so i didnt even accept the ucr honors program offer

indie_boy, you got selected to UCR's honors program? that is strange... i didn't know they select people. i was sent a post card/emails about the program and offered me to apply. i applied on the 15th cuz they said something like i get priority cuz they offered me schalorship. i called the admission offices cuz my freshman GPA is 2.5, and they said freshman GPA does not count. i then asked him what are my chances of getting in the honors program w/ a 3.6 UC weighted and a 1300, and he said it is almost 100%.

"I got honors UCR couple yrs ago."

Things change. Especially in the past two years, things have changed a LOT in how the UCs admit students, and what they do with them once they are admitted. Something that was true even last year may not be true this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed UCR Honors into an application thing because the UCs have only recently said that they can't guarantee everyone who meets their standards acceptance into one of their campuses. That means admission rates go down -- that means they can be more selective about everything.
