I only got into 2 UCS so far. I'm not really expecting to get into more but if I do I'd be happy. I'm probably going to go to a private college but I might consider these options
Which one is better?
Which one has a good bio program?
Which city is nicer?
Which has a better reputation?

UCR has the better rep than Merced. It’s known that anyone can get into Merced but it is the newest(?) campus.

Yeah I know. How is UCR though. I don’t wanna choose just for reputation. My major is bio

Congrats!

I believe some of UCM’s departments might not be accredited.

Not true. Accredited last summer.

I heard that UCR is opening a new medical building this year(:

Cool thanks guys(:

I don’t really know, but living in SoCal the rep for both is pretty bad. Merced is frowned upon. UCR, from what I have heard, has a joint lab program with UCLA. Also, anytime I go onto sciencemag.org, there is always like two things that come out of UCR. UCR is definitely better of the two, but I know the area around it isn’t the best.

ughhh okayyy

The city of Riverside is…well…ugh!

However, the school is still very good.

Merced is in a beautiful area…the school is small and I would think almost like attending a small private…lots of attention from profs. And, the best part…everything is new there.

Can you visit each one?

What is your likely major?

(I don’t think UCR got a new medical bldg this year…I think that was put on hold, but I could be confusing that with the proposal for a new SOM).

I’ll second mom2. I know several recent grads of UC Merced. They had a great education–small classes, lots of contact with professors. They loved it. It’s a brand new campus in a lovely area. I don’t think it’s really the case anymore that “anyone can get in.”

I probably wont go to either. I like riverside more i mean merced has a 91 percent acceptance rate!
I am a biology major.
