UCR Transfer Fall 2019 Thread

@LunaLeandra many of us are still awaiting decisions! :frowning:

@bboy219 how did you find financial aid? When i follow the link to rweb and click the link, it says im not authorized to view.

@LunaLeandra I’m curious. Did you not bother to read any of the previous posts here that explicitly stated that decisions are on a rolling basis from march 1 through April? Or did you not get an e-mail about decisions being released on a rolling basis either?

@mpineda3247 I called the financial aid office directly.

@mpineda3247 again, @BBoy99 explicitly said in page 14 that he called financial aid office and asked about his financial aid package. And as a general notice, if you’re in-state, low EFC (poor), and you did not get regents, you will get blue and gold plan (tuition wavier basically) and a 5500-5900 pell grant for spending money. This is across the board for every UC.

**Forum champion note: Not everyone sees every previous post and people are worried or excited. Be gentle. **

@UCtransfer951 Cal Poly SLO is actually very selective…I received a Congratulations email (Admitted) that said they’d received over 65,000 applications for 5,400 spots.

@BBoy99 As a pre-med, UC Riverside legitimately sounds like the best option. From this point onward, once you’re in the UC system, Medical Schools really only care about GPA and ECs…which are both difficult to get at UCB and UCLA. At those schools, I hear you even have to apply to join clubs smh…

And UCR Med School accepts about half of its incoming students from UCR…

Take the opportunity to outshine your peers at UCR and to commit more time to a lot of ECs…all without racking up undergrad loan debt.

Has Anyone else heard back from UCR for me it still says being considered for admission decision is that mean i didn’t get in ?

@frazi78 No. If you didn’t get in the portal would say something probably beginning with “We regretfully inform…” or “Unfortunately…”

If the portal says “Being considered for an admission decision” then your application is being considered for an admission decision. Remember they release decisions Monday-Friday from March 1 until the beginning of April so you could get a response today or you might not get one until March 31, theoretically.

@holatomm i’m checking my portal every 20 mins have u heard back yet?

@frazi78 I don’t think they are going to release any decisions until late afternoon, based on what I’ve read in this thread.

@holatomm Do you think that they just haven’t finished reading through all the applications or that they do a slow release so as not to slow their system?

@kristinpete take a deep breath. If you read the previous posts, decisions are coming out in waves for AT LEAST the rest of this month (probably into April). The portal is usually updated week days around 5pm.

@kristinpete Cal Poly SLO is definitely the best CSU out of all of them, but still cannot compare to any UC. Moreover, you’re telling me that Cal Poly Slo’s acceptance rate is 8%? That seems like fake information. Just to give you a perspective: UC Berkeley roughly has a 17% acceptance rate.

Yup, this year they have been generally releasing the admissions at 4 pm roughly.

@kristinpete @UCtransfer951 The average acceptance rate for transfer students is 15% (for Fall 2018)

Can be found here: https://www.cuesta.edu/student/studentservices/counseling/transfer/CalPolySLO.html

The only UC that a CSU has an edge over is Merced

@KiraRiech You really misread my comment. You can see in those previous posts you are referring to that I was already accepted into UCR. It was simply a question.

@UCtransfer They accept more students than they have seats because they understand that many won’t SIR. Last year, the Cal poly SLO transfer acceptance rate was 16%

@kristinpete my mistake, I thought the discussion was about UCR. Its a bit confusing that there is so much info about other colleges mixed in this forum. Apologies.
