i heard from someone that UC riverside has a program where if you maintain a decent gpa in premed courses then when you grade from ucr then you get auto-enrolled into ucla? need some confirmation of this if its true

No, it’s called the Thomas Haider Program

It’s basically a seperate medical program where only UCR graduates compete for admission into UCLA medical school. Heres the catch: you spend the first 2 years of medical at UCR and last 2 at UCLA. The degree will only say UCLA though.

You would probably need a pretty good GPA. Only 24 students can enter that program. If that doesn’t work out for me, hopefully they might offer some spots to their new medical school opening 2012.

Most questions about the Thomas Haider Program are answered at the following link:
[UCR Division of Biomedical Sciences](<a href=“School of Medicine Division of Biomedical Sciences | Bridging the gap between science research & clinical medicine”>School of Medicine Division of Biomedical Sciences | Bridging the gap between science research & clinical medicine)

Applying to the program is like applying to any other Medical School. UCR students have the advantage of going to UCLA’s Medical School via this special program which reserves 24 seats in UCLA’s Medical school for UCR students.
