Does anyone know what may happen to UCR/UCLA Thomas Haider MD Program once the UCR medical school opens up this /next year?

hmm thats a good question - no idea, but my guess is that it will end - who knows, though.

Ya that is a good question. I believe that it will stay open for a while, but once it becomes a full working medical school, the program may dissapear. I think the program will go on for atleast 4 more years, but who really knows. we dont even know when they are going to open the medical school due to budget cuts. I think it should open within the next year or even this year.

the new medical school they just opened should be accredited right?

I found these links about the Thomas Haider UCR/UCLA program

From what I enquired about recently, the program was only functioning due to UCR not having a medical school. Once the medical school opens, 50 seats in each incoming class will be reserved only for UCR students for some number of years. What this means is that, if the total class size is 150 students, if you apply from a university other than UCR, you would only have 100 possible seats available to you. While if you went to UCR for your undergraduate studies, you would have 50 seats that you would only be competing against UCR students for.
