Undergraduate Admissions Leadership
Debbie Jaurigue
The professor of engineering was asking me questions based off why I have such a strong interest in the major computer science. Then moved onto why UCR, why UCR was the best match for me. Simple questions.
I emailed Debbie Jaurigue first then she send my LOCI to the professor of the college im interested in
Yep
@Joel36 How long does it take for Debbie to respond, because it’s already been more than a day and she hasn’t said anything yet?
I have received an email today saying they couldn’t admit me for my chosen major, but they have offered me a different major. These life decisions are tough.
@SerratedBrute3 what major you asked for and what major did they offer?
Have hope guys ! I was on the waitlist I messaged Deborah and I just got in today for electrical engineering !!!
Update: She just emailed me today as well, but admitted me to my alternate major (electrical engineering). Honestly, it was a good thing I did this because I was basically told that I wasn’t get gonna get off the waitlist for my primary major (computer engineering). Hopefully, I’m able to change it
My major was computer science, but was offered electrical engineering
Do I need to accept UCR in order to accept grants?
SerratedBrute3 what were ur stats
I am so F*** mad, I got in for electrical engineering and they didn’t even let me stay ont the waitlist for computer science. This absurd. I got into UCSC but I didn’t get into Ucr.What IS THIS!! I cant handle this anymore. I HAD A HIGHER SAT SCORE THAN EVERYONE THAT GOT OFF THE waitlist for computer science and A HIGHER GPA. I am sorrry to everyone, I am being very offensive. BUt this is the TRUTH. I should have gotten in !!!
@happys Yo relax, first of all congrats on getting off the waitlist! There are many here who wish could say the same. Secondly, you have no idea what the gpa and sat scores of everyone who got off the waitlist. On top of that, there more than just gpa and sat scores in the UC application, things like extracurriculars and more importantly your essays. CS is an extremely impacted major so just having high grades may not be enough to stand out.
@happys First of all chill. Second of all you didn’t have to go off on everyone like that. Third of all I’m sure you didn’t have better stats than everyone on the waitlist because I had a 1300 SAT and 4.1 GPA with a crazy amount of EC’s and AP/Honors classes. I got off a week and a half ago but there’s no reason to have just assumed you are better than everyone else from the waitlist. So literally calm down and check your ego…
