a davis degree has a better reputation... but the thing about santa cruz is that there seeems to be a divide between lazy students scraping by in the lowest ranked UC (well, disregarding riverside and merced, because theyre practically CSUs) and students who are highly motivated. I believe that if you are a serious student who is self motivated, youll do better at SC than davis. Davis is too big and too crowded for those type of students. I visited two classes at Davis, both were lectures with over 500 seats, all filled, and students sitting on the stairs to audit the course because it was overbooked and they couldnt sign up for it.. not looking good.

Oh... well UCSB is no longer a choice... :)

Aggies vs. Banana Slugs! Even though I don't even know if I'll get into Davis!

If you haven't visited, visit both Davis and SC. I know SC doesn't have the greatest rep, but I've known many people who went to Davis and HATED it.

And you WILL smell the cows...I've spent time there for cheerleading camps and to visit friends. But if you visit, especially if you can stay overnight, and you like it, go for it.
