I am an econ major looking to go to grad school. Should I go to Cal Poly Slo, UCSD, UCSB, UCD, or UCI? Which would be the best if I want a high gpa to get in to grad school too.
Probably UCSD or UCSB for Econ. Both schools have good Econ programs. Not sure about GPA, it’s unpredictable.
UCSD intermediate economics courses have a greater math emphasis, and UCI offers a greater math emphasis option in intermediate economics courses. If you like math with your economics or want to go on to PhD study, these schools may be favorable.
Pre-PhD students also want to take additional advanced math and statistics courses like real analysis, proof based linear algebra, and calculus based probability theory.
