UCSB Acceptance

just wondering does UCSB look at fall 10 grades?

Yes, they look at your fall 2010 grades.

They don’t affect your admissions. But if you get below a 3.0 your admissions can be revoked.

i was wondering because i had a 2.6 when i submitted my application but after fall 10 i got a 3.1 so are they looking at my 2.6 or 3.1? O_O

Disregard my last post. I’m stupid. I thought you wrote spring… Fall gpa is considered so in your case they will look at your 3.1.

^Is that possible? Barely, I suppose.

Basically, they look at your cumulative GPA up to the fall before you apply–generally, that’s three full semesters. Your Spring grades don’t matter at all, so long as you stay above the minimum. In other words, they won’t hurt or help your initial decision, but they can cause your decision to be revoked. However, they cannot be the only factor in a successful appeal.

@raacheeel: immense GPA boost!!! :O!!!

haha thanks i got a D in a class and i made it up with an A so that helped a lot. i took 18 units that semester id like to say i rose above and beyond

They take Fall grades into consideration. That is why they make you update your application.

Does anyone know at what time will they release admission decisions on Monday?

They’re going to start posting at 4 PM PST.

Anyone know if they are going to release all of Monday’s decisions at 4:00 or are they going to do like UCSC and release them by the hour in alphabetical order?

I am a student from Cali and am an elc student which means I was guaranteed acceptance to ucsb Merced irvine Davis and riverside. I also had the chance to visit Santa Barbra last spring honestly it is the second most beautiful school I have ever seen first being Stanford. I also got accepted to ucsd but I am just crazy about ucsb. I hope that you all get into this school. No one really gives this school any credit for academics but this school is actually very academic. Good luck to everyone. I reapply wish you all the best of luck

is anyone else counting down the hours and hoping to be notified in the first admissions batch? i can’t wait for tomorrow!

I am! lol SB is my first choice school.

SB is tied for 2nd with Davis for me! I can’t wait. This will probably be my second acceptance if I get in :D

Do we have an expected time frame ?
