So my brother is hoping to get into UCSB for Computer Science and I was hoping that someone could give me some insight into his chances since CS is such a competitive department

SAT Subject tests: Physics: 760 Biology: 700 Math II: 800 Chemistry: 740
AP Courses: Sophomore: Computer Science: 5 Junior: Biology: 5 BC Calculus 5 Senior: (In progress) Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Psychology, and Multi variable calculus (college level course taken after hours first semester because he had already completed BC Calculus the year before)
Extracurricular
Freshman: Robotics Club
Sophomore: internship with USC over summer in a collaboration project between the computer science and chemistry department in which he came up with a code for a computer program that matches chromosomes together
Junior-present: Paid Computer Science internship with a local company in Palo Alto

and she too just got the email regarding the whole meeting a counselor thing

Well the reason why my family is concerned is because despite these statistics, he was admitted into UCSD as undeclared even though he applied as computer science

I didnt get the counselor email, but got a general email saying to make a portal. I got into uci yesterday though

I noticed that too. My daughter received and email about the release date on the portal, no other emails and hers says Future Gaucho too… I thought it was interesting. Hmmm
I read that they consider 50% for essay and ec’s

I got rejected from LA, SD today. Rejected from Davis last week. Wait listed at SLO, still waiting on Irvine. Got into UCSC. 33 ACT 3.8 GPA. Lost all my confidence. Please UCSB…
praying to god I can catch a break and get into UCSB… Tuesday cannot come soon enough
Accepted into Cal Poly Pomona, CSULB, and SDSU. Rejected from Cal SLO, UCLA. Waitlisted from UCSD and still waiting on UCI but i’m not very hopeful at this point…literally UCSB is probably my last shot at going to a UC
