i'm going to appeal, and ucsb says the letter must be in by april 14th...besides the financial aid package is there any reason why i should turn it in early? is it like the earlier it is the better? or is later better?

What do you think my chances of are of getting in?

oh im sure i wanns do that too.... i really am going to appeal.....
what exactly do i put with the appeal letter??

I'm an unlucky transfer student going to community college as of now... and been rejected by my #1 choice UCSB... which i've been wanting to go to for years now! i'm getting together what i need to appeal... i'm not sure if transfer appeals are mixed in with freshmen appeals when the decisions are made, and i had just gotten my denial 2 days ago, so i'm barely gettin together an appeal, which according to the admissions lady is O.K as long as it's sent in by May 2nd... anyone got any suggestions?

Well, montalvo, i personally think you have strong chances for an appeal. You have good scores, and good extra curricular (ucsb care alot about extra curriculars). but, it just depends on how many appeals they can accept. So, good luck.

Did any of you guys get into Davis by any chance? If so why are you appealing SB instead of just attending Davis, an equal if not better school academically?

Just wondering because I'm currently deciding between the two and trying to get as much info as possible.

Thanks...

It's because UCSB is better than UC Davis. Intellectual students who also like to socialize prefer UCSB over UC Davis.

If you're still undecided where to go, I seriously think you don't fit in at UCSB. Check out UCSD and UCI. There are bunch of brainy asians who aren't the outgoing type. IF you think you click wiht that type of crowd go to UC Davis... maybe UCSB is out of your league in terms of social life!
