UCSB CCS Chemistry vs. UC Berkeley Chemistry

(CCS = College of Creative Studies) Please help with any insights in comparing these two programs. CCS seems to provide more opportunity for research projects, and has smaller class size. Thank you!

I’ve been waiting for someone with more first hand knowledge about CCS to reply to your posts. My knowledge is anecdotal.

The personal experience and guarantee to be able to do what you want (both in research and academically) in CCS surpasses what Berkeley will be able to offer and then deliver. That said, the social environment is very different between the two schools.

ETA: I was looking through your older posts and it looks like you got Regents as well. Regents and CCS is a very nice package. If UCSB is a social fit then it is a win win win!

if you are intending to pursue a PhD in Chem that CCS is the hands-down winner.
