UCSB Chances

Will someone tell me chances of getting in?

GPA 3.76
Major: Communication
IEGTC: Yes
Tag: no
Transfer: AA/t
EC: camp counselor, public speaker, worked on the school radio station
already been accepted to: Cal poly slo, sac. sf, humboldt, long beach
denied: sdsu
waiting to hear from: UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, LMU, Chico State, Northridge

Assuming you have completed the major prerequisites for communications, I don’t see why you wouldn’t get in.

UCSB mainly cares about high GPA and completion of prerequisites. They don’t even read personal statements nor do they care about extracurriculars.

If you have the major prerequisites completed then you should be good because your GPA is relatively high. If you’re missing one your chances go down considerably, and plummet even further for every additional missing prerequisite thereafter.

Some guy (bio major) with a 4.0 got denied this year because he was missing one biology class.

I wonder if I have a chance. I have a 3.32 gpa with the TAU in January, however I had one pre-req that I took over winter and that was accounting 2. I updated the grade (an A) in Feb and that bumps up my GPA a bit and makes my pre-reqs completed. Im feeling nervous that I haven’t heard back from them yet.

I will complete IGETC this spring, and my English requirements were completed in 2014. I finished my last calculus class in fall 2015.

TAG? I wouldn’t be commenting if I had a TAG.

Conversely to that 4.0 bio major guy, I got accepted with a 3.2, but I’ve taken (and am currently taking) all pre-req classes for my major, math. As far as major gpa I concerned as well, I got a C in precalc I and II last spring/summer, both UC-transferable courses that they would’ve seen on my transcript, and an A in calc I and II. The rest of my math classes are in progress.

@BlackPlasma Some people that did TAG were rejected
