***UCSB Class of 2018 Official Decisions Thread***

@benny29 - Same here, man! Admitted! Guess the Chancellor’s Reception thing was legit :D

Capped UC: 4.14
Uncapped UC: 4.32
Unweighted UC: 3.70
SAT: 2290 (didn’t take the ACT at all)
4 APs last year (5, 5, 5, 4); 6 more this year
Pretty good ECs, what I believe were solid essays.

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who got in, and good luck to those who didn’t!!! :)

@oldschoolboy rejected.

wait listed :frowning:
GPA:3.6
SAT:1940
ACT:29

Alot of nice ECs: 60 hours CIty of hope cancer research

intended major: pre bio-psychology

praying still :(

Accepted! Feels good, wait listed by UCSD yesterday.

Got the Chancellor invite for NYC a few weeks ago but took it with a grain of salt.

Stats:

Out-of-State

GPA: ~3.5
UC GPA: Lower if this means only sophomore and junior grades, had a terrible junior year.
SAT: 1980
ACT: 31

Lots of ECs
Hundreds of hours volunteering
Good Essay (great story but I’m not a good writer)

Why I think I got in: Good standardied test score, and great story to tell in my essay. Very unique rough background. Good ECs. Had a legit excuse for poor academics in Junior year.

Thank you for reading past the bad year UCSB!

This just goes to show you don’t need a 2200+ on the SAT to get into a competitive college. Always try! This is the first college I’ve been accepted into, after being denied from MIT & CO School of Mines, so hang in there, have hope. I thought I’d be denied from everywhere.
