UCSB class of 2023

@gjkilen what were ur stats?

@uwlover267 I have a 4.05W GPA and my school doesnt have unweighted, and then I had a 1310 for my SATs

Thats not low! congrats! @gjkilen

Hope you get in. Right now the schools are making so pretty tough choices and not all the right ones.

On the UCSB Admissions page about an hour ago says that “Admission decisions will be released starting March 19 at 3pm PST! Are you ready”. Saw this post from the UCSB Admission Facebook page this morning.

@Brandon2000 where does it say 3PM PST? I can’t see the time mentioned on the website or in the portal! ???

hi! went to the reception in DC today, basically said that you will receive financial aid and awards information a week after you receive your decision. if you got the chancellors letter and did not go to the reception, you will see your decision information on the 19th

@fanofthemcu If you go to the reception do they give you the financial aid & awards at the reception??? Thx!

@lakergirl6232 nope, they didn’t give us any of our acceptance letters either, just a brochure and a speech saying ‘congratulations! you’re in!’

I’m going to the NY reception tomorrow and was wondering what most people wore? Sorry if that’s a silly question!

@jlia1327 I went to the DC reception today!! I wore a dress, and didnt feel under dressed or over dressed. There were some people that were super duper fancy, and others that were in sweats… honestly business casual/ cute outfits will make u feel comfortable with how u look! There were only 90 students at the DC reception and I think it’s the same for NY, which makes it so much more of an honor! Congrats! Let us know how it goes  (they will accept u guys right at the start)

@taloolab Yayy thank you, I’m so excited!

@lakergirl6232 It was on their Facebook page. Accept them through Facebook and its on their admission page.

@lakergirl6232 it is also on their Twitter page. @UCSBAdmissions

Yesterday they tweeted: “Admission decisions will be released starting March 19 at 3pm PST! Are you ready?”

Follow your favorite schools on twitter and or Facebook to get the latest news for your schools that your interested in. News you may be interested in will be released before you see it on the message boards.

My son was just rejected from UC Davis but UCSB is his first choice. Should I be concerned that he won’t get in any of the UC’S. He did get one C in an English class his freshman year. I’ve been told that is enough to disqualify you from the UC’s.

@NosyCaliparent: Each UC will evaluate applicants based on their own criteria so a decision from one UC is not an indication on how an applicant will fare at another.

B-) @Gumbymom you have a lot of information and knowledge to share… You’re not really Siri are you?

@Vibes4me: I am the designated UC Forum Champion so hopefully I am able to help in sharing my knowledge of the UC system.

@NosyCaliparent - One below par grade in one semester shouldn’t define a student. Despite one C, got acceptances from UCR (very good scholarship), UCSC, UCD, Cal Poly (scholarship), CU Boulder (good scholarship) - all into a competitive major (CS) as OOS. I believe the overall GPA, test score, course rigor through senior year, AP exam scores, ECs and Essays all played their part in holistic review, like they should. Stay hopeful!
