UCSB class of 2023

@taloolab: If you know from the Chancellor’s reception that you have been admitted, then yes go ahead and post your stats.

@Gumbymom I’m going to wait until Saturday (I’m attending the DC one) just to be 100% sure

Last year my younger son got his decision on Tuesday March 20, 2018 after 12noon. Looking back to last year decisions being released. So hoping it will be around the 19th of 2019, which is also a Tuesday. Crossing my fingers for my daughter this year.

@Brandon2000 UCSB has stated that decisions are definitely coming out on 3/19 this year.

@lakergirl6232 We expect admissions decisions to be released:
Freshman applicants: March 19, 2019
Transfer applicants: Beginning March 19, 2019 with additional decisions released on April 1, 15 and 30, 2019. Yes, its been on their website. Expect decisions to come out at 12pm too.

my son got accepted to Cal Poly SLO and UC Riverside this week, but really wants this school. We will see. GPA: 3.55 and SAT 1310. Longshot, but who ever knows:)

@Brandon2000 does this also mean that freshman applicants come out at 12pm?

what do you think my chances of getting in are?
SAT: 1460
ACT: 33
Weighted GPA: 4.50
Unweighted GPA: 3.84

@calebparkk as ling as your essays and EC were good i would say excellent

@123california Im hoping based on last years time of released decisions.Keep a look out on your portal and email around noon.

HOLY FRICK YA’LL I JUST GOT A REGENTS SCHOLARSHIP TO UCSB!! TOP 2% OF ADMISSIONS!! I’m 0 EFC so 6k/year will basically be a full ride after need based aid!!

1520 SAT / 4.32 UC GPA / 3.95 UW… my stats weren’t THAT high so i’m INCREDIBLY surprised!

@literallyliteral Congrats!!! Were you notified by email, mail, or portal update?

@LincolnsGF MAIL! I think it was super delayed, because the postage says 2/13/2019 and the letter says 2/6/2019… Plus I haven’t heard of anyone getting Regent’s in a while since the first wave mid-February.

Anyone else just get waitlisted at sdsu? Im super bummed that i probably wont get into ucsb now:( uc’s dont consider major just college you applied into right?
UC GPA: 3.86
SAT: 1400
Instate

@savethebees71 I would not worry because your SAT is in the middle to high range. You got it!

@savethebees71 I wouldn’t bee too worried, I think we all know the Cal States and UC admissions system is highly unpredictable

Same… UCSB is my dream school but i just got waitlisted for SDSU ): If i cant even get into SDSU i would take it as a rejection from UC’s as well… GPA: 3.88 and a 1380

@savethebees71 and @jimpix: One’s rejection/waitlist is not an indication of how you will fare at another school’s admission process.

That said, UC’s tend to very GPA focused and a UC capped weighted GPA of less than 4.0 will make UCSB a tough admit even with test scores well within range. UCSB however states that their application review considers 50% academics and 50% Essays and EC’s so if you are some outstanding essays and EC’s, this could tip the scale. All you can do is hope for the best and remember where you go for Undergrad will not define you, it was what you do with the opportunities you are given that will make you successful.

Best of luck.

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCSB: 38%

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCSB: 4.13

2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCSB: 1270-1500

yay!!! did you get the chancellors thing too?

If we got invited to the chancellors thing, does that mean we definitely were accepted?
My stats were super low I was surprised I got it, i feel like it was a mistake
