UCSB class of 2023

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

I’m really hoping I get in with a 31 ACT and a 4.22 UC GPA. Got waitlisted by Davis so I’m apprehensive.

I have a 31 ACT & only a 4.19 weighted UC GPA :frowning: which sucks because mu GPA at my actual school is 4.893 Oh well, I wrote really good essays and hopefully my EC’s also pull through for me

Does anyone know what time results come out? I live on the east coast.

Welcome, applicants, one and all,
We’re so happy you’ve applied to UCSB for the fall,
If it’s an admission decision you’re waiting to see,
Check back here on March 19 at 3!

(Pacific Time, that is. Swimming pools. Movie stars.)

everyone there’s hope! i got a 28 on my ACT (at least the one I sent in… so annoyed I sent the lower score) and I had a 4.3W GPA and got the chancellors invite. You guys had stronger stats, so you’re hopefully good to go!

Hoping my D has a chance tomorrow! OOS 31 ACT, 1410 SAT, 4.16 UCGPA, 4.0 UW GPA, lots of EC and pretty good essays. UCSB is her top choice! She has been accepted to: Loyola Marymount, Univ of Arizona/Honors college, & Univ of Hawaii-Manoa.

@noah2425 I applied to the same schools as you but I got waitlisted at Davis for CS. I have a 1360 SAT (1460 on the one w/o essay but UCs don’t accept that score) and a 4.3 GPA. Top 4% of my graduating class.

@aliwalsh76 those are three excellent schools. My niece is in the honors college at the Sun Devils. Excellent program. She would do well at any of those three if not getting into UCSB. It’s a Numbers/Odds game. Remember to Comfort and encourage no matter what.

@LincolnsGF: S’s CCS department meeting and campus/CCS school tour is not until Mid April. Did they tell you at your CCS meeting that you were accepted? S hasn’t been informed although his appointment is in April.

On the Davis thread you posted that your UC GPA is 3.92. That is the GPA that UCSB will consider.

You are dating yourself. :))

Good luck to everyone!! Tomorrow is the big day.

@Mojo88 Yes, at the meeting, I was told that I was unofficially accepted into math CCS.

I’m so stressed :frowning: I was waitlisted at Davis with a 34 ACT and 4.1-ish UC GPA so I’m definitely not too confident about my chances at the other UCs. But good luck everyone!! We got this

@lkg4answers I wondered if anyone would catch the reference! They don’t make great TV like that anymore.

if I’m an oos middle-class student there is probably no chance for any money, is there?

@fanofthemcu As OOS, UC schools do restrict need-based aid available to out of state students. I believe OOS can get Pell Grants and Federal Loans and some limited merit aid (such as Regents, but those kids were notified already, I think). UC schools want OOS students not just for their contribution to campus academic life, but also for their $$$.

today is the day! good luck everyone!!
