UCSB Financial Aid

Has anyone gotten their unofficial award letters from UCSB? It says online they will release them late March but it's way past that now.

Have you already been accepted…because if you were denied, they wont send out award letters…and they probably just released award letters to freshman, as they have to accept/deny before transfers do

Nope, haven’t received anything yet on aid

Don’t think any1 has

Those letters or financial aid stuff are only for the people that applied for financial aid, right?

@ iamsocal yeah basically

I was accepted 3/19. Just wondering because I called the financial aid office two weeks ago and they said they would release the transfer aid letters on April 2.

Eh I wouldn’t worry about it. Don’t think anyone has gotten theirs yet. And Cal Grant hasn’t released their awards yet so the SB award will be an estimate if it were to be released tomorrow so it’s all good.

when i talked to ucsb at their online open house they said that award letters for transfers would BEGIN to go out two weeks from 3/29.

i heard Cal Grants were being released on the 15th, thats what SFSU told me. Maybe they are waiting for that. Still havent got mine yet either.

each school is different when they release their financial aid, and their cal grants…but generally even if they give you an estimate, its generally what ou are going to receive +/- a a few hundred, depending on the final 2012/13 UC tuition and budget because as of right now it is not confirmed what the cost is going to be…just as long as you make sure you submitted your FAFSA to that school you will be good.

Also check the WebGrants website to see if your CAL GRANT has been processed and you could see how much you would get for each school…

Right now the UCs are more worried about Financial Aid Packages for Freshman as they have to decide where they will enroll by May, where as us transfers have to decide in JUNE…and no this is not going to affect how much money you will receive…
