UCSB selectivity

Hey, I either want to major in physics or engineering. Anyone know which one is more selective so i can maximize my chances at getting in (by applying to the less selective one) thanks! BTW I am a girl

at many colleges, you would be applying to different colleges within the institution; for instance, if you majored in physics, you would apply to a college of arts and sciences quite often, and if you majored in engineering then to a college of engineering. Both physics and engineering programs are jonesin’ for female students. Bottom line, it’s not clear with the information you’ve provided which major would provide the best chance for admission.

It is harder to get into the engineering program than to be accepted to the College of Letters and Sciences for physics. However, transferring from L&S into the school of engineering is near impossible.

Be aware that the engineering program requires SAT subject tests.

what that said ^^^
