Hello, everyone. I just had one question about UCSB tag math and English requirements. It says on the tag agreement that you have to finish it all by the end of fall 2017. I completely forgot about that when I chose my math classes this year and I chose one lower than the one required. Specifically, I’m in math 11 right now and t have to finish math 12. Is it ok if I finish math 12 in the winter? I genuinely didn’t know. I also took math 41 which is the equivalent of math 11 in the spring. I could’ve taken 12 this quarter but I thought it would look strange so I didn’t. Do I still have a chance? I meet every other requirement.
The people that know work in admissions at UCSB. Ask them.
What if someone out here says it is fine, but its not? There goes your TAG. And, worse, what if there was an appeal process to take it in winter quarter but you didn’t submit the appeal because you thought it was ok?
I was told the Winter was fine by two different advisors as well as admissions because that’s what I’m going to do but for some reason, I don’t believe them and it’s going to screw me over. But according to them, yes you should be fine as long as grades are submitted before the due date in January.
I can tell you the answer because it happened to me re UCSB TAG. The required math course MUST be completed by fall or you are rolled over into regular admissions. No ifs, ands or buts. Since my application, all the UC TAGs have moved to this policy.
