Hey guys!
I have been accepted into both colleges and can't really choose between the two.
Here's Some key points about both schools.

UCSB:
1. Can experience the college life
2. More prestigious
3. I don't really know if I want to go into pre-political science(which I got accepted as)
4. VERY difficult to transfer to some majors that I want to go in.(computer science)

Cal Poly Pomona:
1. Accepted into as Computer Engineering major
2. Known for good engineering programs.
3. Less sociable, less college experience.
4. Overall, a less prestigious school.
5. Can not be certain Engineering is for me, as I have never really tried it and may want to switch to computer science.

So, I would like to ask for some inputs.
What do you guys think?

I think UCSB is fantastic, but if you want to do CE and you were accepted at Cal Poly in the major, I think you really should go there. It is a good school. I suspect it would be easier to switch from CE to CS at Cal POly than from Political science to CS at UCSB. But you should probably call Cal Poly and ask about it.

Note, if you can do CS in the letters and sciences college at UCSB, possibly that would be doable, but you should call UCSB to ask about that… It would then not be in the engineering department, though.

Yea, well seems like l&s doesn’t have CS major
Pretty much set on CPP. THanks:D

I had pretty much the same dilemma as you. I talked to the CS advisor and he said that as long as you get a B in the CS perquisites and a C is the math prerequisites, then you should be able to change your major to CompSci. He also said that they accepted all change of major requests last quarter.

Well that is not much of a prerequisite, you should be able to change to CS easily.
