I am trying to decide between one of these three schools for next year. I got into UCSD for biochemistry already and I think I will probably get into the other two. I know that UCSD is the better of the three in terms of academics especially for biochemsitry. However, I don't know if I want to go there because I hear it isn't a very exciting place and it is not very fun. Is that true or have I heard wrong? On the other hand I like Davis a lot because it is a college town and it is also good for any biological major. I know someone who went there and they said it is a fun place. I like Santa Barbara the most in terms of campus and location ( I live only an hour away from Davis and I feel that's a little too close to home for me while Santa Barbara is about 5 hours away) and I know it is on par with Davis academically, but I don't know how good it is in the field of biochemistry. Any suggestions that could help with my decision are appreciated!!

my college counselor told me that no matter how good the university is in your major, you won’t enjoy college unless you like the place. You can’t base everything off of what other people say. I would take spring break to go and visit all 3.

although i absolutely love UCSB.
