I’ve finally heard back from all the schools I applied to (transfer 2020) and have narrowed it down to UC Santa Barbara ans UC San Diego.
I was accepted as an economics major at both schools, and I would be psyched about either. I have less than a week to make this very difficult decision. Does anyone have any words of advice/opinions? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Also, I’m not interested in doing research in college and going to graduate school.
Between these 2 similar schools the difference in outcomes is going to be what you do in college, not the name on the diploma. If you get involved in clubs, search for internships (very important), work with the career center, then you’ll be successful. The only difference between the two is if you are interested in accounting; UCSB has a major in accounting that (with some additional coursework they offer) gets you ready for the CPA exam, I didn’t see something similar on the UCSD website for their accounting minor with a quick look.
Pick the one you’d rather attend, then do the things above.
