For those incoming freshmen that have accepted off the waitlist, are you able to get housing? Or is there a waitlist for housing as well?
If a wave already came out for pre-political science, does that mean that they’re already full for that major? My first choice is political science so I just want to know if I should still have my hopes up or not
So when I got accepted yesterday I did the housing application on the deadline day, I dont know what is happening now, but I got extremely lucky in that regard
hi guys two of my friends got in last night one for environmental science and idk the other one. for everyone who got in so far, did u guys write a LOCI?
UCSB did not accept LOCI’s this year so if submitted, they would have not been reviewed.
thank you so much!
Does anyone know if they will let people on the waiting list know when they stop accepting people on the waiting list…so we don’t continue to keep hopes up for no reason ? And, will they let people know when their major is full, or just when they stop taking from the entire list?
@rhsgitsb Got this earlier from @Gumbymom in the UCLA forum - thanks to her: The UC’s either post that the waitlist is closed meaning no more admits or they will send out an email indicating a rejection. Either way, all waitlisted students will be notified. Last year most of the waitlists did not close until July.
hi does anyone know how I can cancel my application after I’ve accepted the waitlist?
Email admissions or call. https://www.ucsb.edu/contact
Thank you!
Anyone get off or know anyone that got off for CS or stats+data science?
Or engineering?
My S waiting for CS - in UCSB, UCI, UCLA or CalPoly. Committed OOS to UMD, College Park.
UMD is a great school… USNews ranks it at #16 for CS. I am assuming he turned down a few UCs as well?
Thanks. Rankings are in usnews and csrankings.org (this is more popular with the employers). Yes, he turned down UCSC, UCD.
Since he turned down UCD and is waiting on UCSB - (excluding UCI/LA) looks like you would prefer UCSB over UCD for CS? I thought UCSB and UCD were similarly ranked but SB has nicer location.
We live only 30 mins away from Davis
Hah. That explains why he wants to put some distance between himself and Davis.
My son is waiting on CS for UCD, UCSB & UCSD.
UCSD seems like a long shot.
No CS movement from these three.
I turned down UC Davis CS in favor of Cal Poly, waiting for UCSB CS
