UC Davis and UCSB are far apart if you compare median SAT of accepted students. Data from CollegeBoard.org: UCDavis = 1285, UCSC = 1290, UCI = 1300, CalPoly = 1340, UCSB = 1365.
USNews ranks UCD and UCSB the same for CS. At least one top employer ranks UCSB higher than CalPoly, and CalPoly higher than UCDavis (which matches Median SAT ordering above). I have compared course catalogs, and UCI, UCSB and Cal Poly seemed to have better CS course catalog than UC Davis. In terms of currently enrolled students’ opinions, Cal Poly appears to be at the top of this list of colleges.

My S committed to Cal Poly engineering, but WL at UCSD, UCI, and UCSB engineering. He is hoping to get off WL at SB.

Has anyone majoring in Comp Science gotten accepted from the waitlist anywhere (UCSB, UCI, UCLA, CalPoly)? If so, please mention IS, OOS or international, and gender.

AH congrats, im pre-bio too! This is so exciting but making me anxious because I’m still waitlisted… do you mind sharing your stats? And does anyone know if these waves of acceptances by major go on for a while or do they just send them all together?

None so far in UCSB, UCD, CP-SLO for CS. Only one I have heard so far for CS is UCSC on 5/7
Yes that one was probably my son who got off the waitlist for CS at UCSC on 5/7. I thought that was the first wave or wavelet.
