I’ll be majoring in Computer Science at UCSC, and am looking to get a new laptop for college . Should I go with Mac or Windows? Price isn’t a huge deal for me. I don’t game so that doesn’t matter, but I want to know which would be better for coding. Do most people in CS at UCSC use Mac or PC? What do you guys recommend? If Mac, which laptop specifically?
Doesn’t matter which you get. Pick whatever you like the best. You could simply install windows OS onto your macbook pro if you need a windows OS to code, similarly for UNIX/Linux.
Not sure how my roommate did this but, he had a profile with the apple OS and another profile with windows OS. So when he wanted to take notes or whatever school related, he’d use the apple OS profile and switch to windows OS if he wanted to game.
Will we need to bring our laptops to class or will the classes have computers?
