UCSC winter transfers

ah, okay, well I’m just going to get in touch with my roommate then for that information.

Hi, did any of you guys receive your refunds yet? I set up my direct deposit a while ago but just changed my routing number today because I realized I used the wrong one! Damn Bank of America! lols I hope this doesn’t delay anything.

I havent received any refunds yet either and I signed up for direct deposit a while ago. Has anyone gotten their financial aid money yet?

I just got my refund last night :]

I got mine too :$

I got mine today, as well.

Anyone know how exactly the meal plan works? Do you get a card or something, and if so, where do you get it?

Your meal plan is on your ID card. Basically you either get the 55-75, 5 day, or 7 day meal plans. Normally students who live at the apartments on campus get the 55 meal plan which means they get 55 meals a quarter (the rest of their meals they put together in their kitchen)

A meal = one swipe at a dining hall for an “all you can eat” meal AND it also means $8 worth of food at an on campus cafe. Of course you can eat tons at a dining hall, but the food at the restaurants/cafes on campus are much better.

Thanks, MidnightGolfer.

BTW, where do we get our ID card?

I’m not completely sure. I either got my ID card during freshman orientation when I first took my picture or on my move in day. I have a feeling it was during my move in day because they gave me an envelope full of stuff (including my room key), but I don’t know how it works with transfer students.
Also if you’re in colleges 9/10, your ID card is used to open the doors to the dorm buildings, laundry rooms, and study lounges.

@vodka23 At Quarry plaza, in a small room by the bookstore you can get your quarterly sticker for your ID/your picture taken for the ID/the ID itself. If you go there this monday expect a line.

So, valuable lesson learned: even if you have a written promise for a permission code, even from a department adviser, do not trust it until you actually have the permission code.

I went through the hoops to get those written promises and then the hoops to get approved for doing 20 units my first quarter. When I went to the department adviser for one my majors and asked her for the permission codes she promised me, I was told for one of them, “Oops, sorry, I can’t give you that. It has a strictly enforced capacity control.”

I definitely do not have very much trust remaining, if any, for my department adviser if she can make a huge mistake like this ):. At least my college adviser will be happy I can longer do 20 units this quarter now unless a miracle happens over the weekend.

Damn, I’m sorry to hear that, Kender. Thanks for the heads up. I hope it all works out somehow. Beyond that, though, how was your first week of classes? It’s been going alright for me so far, despite having hundreds of pages of reading every week, but that was for the most part expected, I guess.
