I agree that it is frustrating that there is such a large focus on GPA compared to SAT/ACT. With the SAT/ACT everyone is on an even playing field and it truly tests capability to critically read and do math problems. The GPA however is very dependent on the school. I switched high schools a few times and my GPA has ranged from 3.4 all the way to 4.5 just due to what school it was; there was no change in effort put in.
If you have a SAT/ACT that is exceedingly higher than the 75th percentile and you got rejected at Davis, it’s likely that admissions are aware that you applied as a backup option, and that you have other target schools. Therefore, it does not mean that you’ve killed your chances at UCSD and the best thing to do is sit tight and wait it out. You can appeal if Davis is your first choice and you think you’re competitive against their stats. 
yeah i just want to say that my friend got accepted into UCSD last year but got waitlisted at davis. another friend of mine got into UCI and waitlisted at davis. (both eventually got in but they went to the other school). no one should lose hope, UC Davis has been extremely weird with who they accept
Yea! Sorry for panic/confusion…I was looking at both threads at the same time. Anyone know when UCSD will be released? Cant wait to get rejected!

What do you guys think my chances are? I’m really anticipating this decision. 36 ACT, 1540 SAT, 800 SAT 2 Math 2, 4.3 GPA, high rigor of AP courses and good extracurriculars
Got UCD waitlisted this morning. Applied to CS, act 34, uw 3.92/4, 8 out of 10 AP are 5, EC includes internship and software development, great essays, still dunno why… do i still have chances for UCSD?
4.53 GPA W, 3.9 UW, 1510 SAT (800 Math, 710 English) (7-7-7 essay), SAT 2: Math Level 2-730, Biology-720, 14 APs throughout high school

Accepted into neurobiology, physiology, and behavior at Davis

Um UC Davis admissions were strange this year-I think you have a solid chance at UCSD.

What is the source for ppl saying that UCSD comes out either Saturday or Monday?

According to UCSD alumni they are asking for calling campaign volunteers on March 19. So if acceptances came out it would be after that, not this Monday.
If it is today, around what time?
I’d be really surprised if they came out on a weekend?
I personally think they will come out on Friday. But I could be wrong.
I have similar stats to yours and got waitlisted at UCD as well.
