UCSD Class of 2022

@collegedreamer167 SD usually sends out on a friday

@Heisenberg1700 just wait until decisions! it’s like coming out super soon anyway.

Oh my god guys I think UCSB decisions are coming out today!! If you look up UC Santa Barbara on Twitter there are multiple tweets posted within the last hour of people saying they’re accepted!! But I looked on my portal and there’s no decision posted yet??

I’m so confused on how these people already heard back? Is there like an ED round today or?

If it is for UCSB decisions, then yes the Chancellor reception recipients probably found out they were admitted.

Ohhh gotcha. Dang:(

No I think you’re right because I scrolled through more and I think everyone in the top 10% was invited to a reception and then they announced that they’re all accepted. Plus the UCSB official twitter posted a few hours ago that decisions are in 9 days

I really wish all the UC decisions would just come out on the same day lol. It’s one app

Does the calling campaign apply to all accepted or solely in-state accepted?

What’s the calling campaign? Is it for some kind of honors program?

@pungie2000 Instate or OOS but not international IIRC

@cocoonutty UCSD likes to call URMs, first gen students, and Regents scholars to tell them they’ve been admitted before RD decisions are sent out.

UCSB today? I don’t think so, they will have the Chancellor Reception next Sunday here in NorCal. Why do that if they release the list beforehand?
@ucsdcscholar dumb question, but what is URMs? When are they starting the calling campaign?

@nuvemseis URM is under represented minorities

@nuvemseis Alumni are calling beginning this week and student volunteers are calling beginning next week. Usually admission decisions come after student volunteers begin calling but in the past the alumni calling campaign happens after student volunteer campaign (which is the opposite this year).

So I’m not sure when admission decisions are going to be released during this time, but definitely after one of the campaigns begin.

i think (hope) this has more to do with TRANSFER students rather than incoming freshman class.
read the following article carefully, it’s from Oct. 2017 :

http://ucsdguardian.org/2017/10/16/ucsd-offers-to-pay-transfers-to-move-off-campus-due-to-overcrowding/

they won’t be generous with the acceptance, that’s for sure but ‘to capacity’ ?? i doubt it. let’s not panic just yet ^^

@avz11ymc4 It wasn’t just for transfers. Some of my friends who were second-years moved off campus because of the incentive.

Freshmen were housed in the village (transfer housing) and transfers were housed in grad housing because of the overadmittance. They gave the incentive to everyone living on dorms/apartments on campus.

Pretty sure the post you’re referring to was a ■■■■■ post though because they referred to getting their information from Muir College Council, a student-government based org which has nothing to do with admissions.

@ucplsacceptme the UCSB acceptances were offered to the top 15% of applicants invited to the Chancellor’s Reception yesterday in OC as @Gumbymom stated. My D attended and they made a surprise announcement at the event. They confirmed all other acceptances will be released 3/20 with financial aid info released on 3/22.

@Heisenberg1700 how do you know your ib points already?

i’m back! is there a possibility tomorrow but do we need to wait till friday ?

Assume Friday. While I would love for it to be monday that is very unlikely. They pretty much always release on a Friday and after the early calling campaign starts (it starts the 13th).
