Im a transfer student considering UCSD as a school. I got into the school as a Management Science major. I would love to go to UCSD, however i'm scared that i'll go crazy studying and be stressed out 24/7. Is the major that hard? I do plan on going to get my MBA. My next choice would be UCSB as Econ and Accounting. Is graduating from UCSD vs UCSB going to make or break my career?

Choosing one school over the over will have a negligible impact on your career. Both programs are very good, UCSB Econ and Accounting is heavily recruited by the Big 4 and UCSD almost at UCLA’s level (small difference).

UCSD and UCSB have an entirely different atmosphere. UCSB (University of Casual Sex and Beer) is laid back, not in a big city (more like a vacation area), and then tend to…uhhh…drink a lot. UCSD (University of California, Socially Dead) is less “exciting” but they do study a lot more. Honestly, just pick the one that fits you better, and even if you don’t drink a lot, or study took much, you’ll find your niche at both schools.

Thanks for the reply! Is UCSD’d Econ significantly “harder” than UCSB?
