@bruins8clap that’s what I expected. There are 120,000 students trying to get into UCSD alone (while mostly freshmen who have already been accepted or rejected). That’s why I am just going off the math from 2015+. No matter what UCLA and UCSD always released before UCB. Even last year when UCSD was so late, UCB was a day later. I have no inside info, just calculations.
I feel ya bro. I emailed tons of transfer centers today lol. Ventura college told me that they will release the 29th. Then Cypress college said mid april. So seems like the transfer centers don’t know either ahah.
@bruins8clap I hear you, I remembered when I called the actual UC App number due to an issue I found…the guy on the other end of the line sounded like he was either in a Coma, stoned or ready to hang up and walk out of this office never to return. My assumption is every college that hasn’t released yet is receiving tons of calls every hour from students begging for some info. On a funny note… I bet there is an office pool at every college betting on the number of calls parents and students make asking for inside info. hahah
Also by no means talking about you emailing colleges @bruins8clap, just in general.
That’s pretty funny. you know what would be really funny? IF UC Davis, UCSD, and UCLA all release the week after Berkeley lol
The ventura college transfer center person answered so confidently too lol.
THey just said “UCLA will release April 29th.”
Then like 10 other colleges just told me they don’t know yet.
@bruins8clap no joke, that thought made me burst out in laughter. I hate to say this but just cuz I love a good laugh, if I had control over the dates and read these forums during this time of year, I’d probably do something like that.
@Scoobybrew this is actually super cool. I wish I knew about this before.
@JakeRice40 I wouldn’t stress at all. Myself and two others that I know got rejected from SLO when we all have 3.95+ GPA’s and completed all prereqs. My counselor told me that Cal Poly SLO tends to reject overqualified students in order to leave room for students who are less likely to get accepted into a UC.
@littlemissmel thank you for the response and you’re really helping me feel better about this. It’s still so hard waiting and waiting for these dang decisions to come out already!
The wait is honestly killing me
Why can’t they decide a fixed day and announce it even if it is after the berkeley date
when do you guys expect well get the decisions ?
@sagaciousforever I’m in the same position as you with the English reqs, I’m hoping my other stats give me at least a little flexibility (it’s the only one I’m missing). Did you ever figure out if just missing that course is still fine?
I’m expecting next week hopefully (NOT OFFICIAL IT’S JUST MY THOUGHTS)
Does UCSD pick one day and submit them all like UCLA or do they send them randomly ?
These are the past 4 years Of UCSD acceptances:
2018: Thurs, April 26, 5:40p
2017: small drop March 10; Main drop: April 21 and April 24
2016: Friday, March 11 early drop, then a long dead space (which is usually how UCSD operates). Main drop on Friday, April 22
2015: Same as above, an early drop, then silence, with main announcement around Friday, April 17
@bruins8clap you da bestttttt thank you !
Sorry, a little late to the thread. I have completed my associate’s degree in Psychology. I am applying to the Cognitive Science major with 73 units after one year in community college. My GPA is 3.4, however I received a D in Calculus 1 due to medical reasons, but I am retaking it this semester. There is only one pre-req I have not completed. What are my odds, I am freaking out.
@darenn I’m also a cog sci major with a gpa close to yours. Your gpa is within range of admitted cog sci applicants in the past few years and according the the UCSD rep at my cc there are no required prerequisites that need to be completed before transferring for cog sci. (I haven’t taken calc 1 yet, which scares me but the UCSD rep assured me because it’s not screened and I have IGETC completed it’s okay. I was so scared he called the UCSD admissions office with me and we all checked to make sure it was okay.)
You’re not like a guaranteed admit but you have a pretty decent shot. I’m there with you
UCSD’s CogSci department is one of the best in the country (maybe even in the world). It is far better than the one at UCLA. I don’t know how it compares with the one in Berkeley tho. I am kinda worried because I saw a person in last year’s thread who got rejected with a 3.9, and he even said he completed most of the prereqs. Which is kind of weird because CogSci is not impacted, and they have such a high acceptance rate.
Also, I am kinda in the same situation as you. I received a D in Calc 2 in fall 2018, then I retook it during the winter intersession and got an A. I sent them that grade like a week ago but I am not sure if they are going to consider it or not. That D got me worrying
