UCSD Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@CAtransplant I was just thinking I should go over and look through that thread. (Edit: 165 pages in that thread! …not sure I’ll be able to find it again…)

Why would the school make the same mistake two years in a row?..Perhaps it’s an attempt to keep us interested in the school while we wait for decisions…?

ha ha @kristinpete - perhaps. Is Triton Day only for admitted students? ETA: never mind, I just googled it and I see there is one in May that is just for admitted transfer students. Interesting. Let us know what you find in last year’s thread.

@CAtransplant Yes, it sounds like it. There are two Tritondays, however - one for freshman in April and one for transfers in May I believe.

@kristinpete ya, I just figured that out also.

Apparently last year some transfer applicants were accidentally invited to some reception and a couple tried to RSVP for it.

I also received the email but no change on my portal… I wonder if this is a good sign for us?

so does the email mention being invited to the Overnight which is for freshmen only or does it also mention Triton Day for freshmen and transfers?

@CAtransplant It simply says “for admitted students”…no indication of freshmen or transfer

Edit: Ok, I clicked on another link in the email and the first sentence reads “This is an invitation-only program for select UCSD-admitted high school seniors”… So it’s clearly a mistake!

@kristinpete ah ok, thanks.

Did everyone else receive this email?

I did as well, it said, “Dear {first},” at the beginning. Probably a bug.

I want a bug! UCSD send your bug to me too! At least it would give me hope.

My daughter does not seem to have received it. Don’t know if that means anything.

Wait now that I think back, wasn’t there an option to receive info on Triton Day and campus “days” etc… when filling out the application. I know I opted out of that because I’ve been there many times.

Yes but the email that was sent was for an invite-only program and said for admitted students so I’m not sure what it means.

@Scoobybrew …No.

I don’t recall coming across that option in the application process and I don’t see anything along those lines as I review the application now.

It is most likely a bug if it is really saying “This is an invitation-only program for select UCSD-admitted high school seniors” or “Dear {first},”

Got the same e-mail “Dear {first}” :neutral: Tried to apply on but there’s an error message, so I’m pretty sure it’s a bug. Too bad, I wanted to get excited there for a moment lol

Does anyone know what the admissions process for the Arts Department is like? The long wait for the decisions is making me anxious since I’ve already been accepted into every school besides UCSD and UCLA.
