hey everyone, i just wanna know the formula UCSD uses in thier admission process, because i have heard so many different ones, and what are the EC’s they and dont count? like what kind of leadership do they give more points in, thanks a lot

and what are the EC's they "count" and dont count?

-ma bad

I dont know what you're talking about. All the UC's are the same regarding counting EC's.
Anything that you put in your apps's five spaces count, but every school except UC Davis wont use a formula, if they do, it's kept a secret.

I got into UCSD though going to UCD next year, I was President of Asian Student Association, and VP of FBLA. (Not much but active)

I also included Honor society and california scholarship federation but that was filler, most people have that so it isn't really an edge to be a normal member like I was in those clubs.

I think what matters is that you SHOW them what you have done to personally impact the club. Even if its a drawing club or something, show that you have actually affected the club in a positive way, and explain what you have learned from the experience.

Here is the official Selection Process formula:

You probably shouldn't use only the formula to calculate if you're going to get in or not. Just be sure to explain yourself well in the essays and descriptions of the clubs (on the UC app)

Bubbles:

SD is pretty much a quant process, as outlined in the link in post #4. In past years, they've quantified the apps, rank-ordered them, and accepted apps in that order, i.e., everyone with a point score exceeding xx was accepted. Of course, there is no guarantee that they will follow the procedure this year.

btw, other UCs may do something similar, they just don't publish it.
