Ucsd tag

For UCSD TAG: Both of the UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall 2009, prior to Fall 2010 admission.

Hypothetically speaking, if you receive a D in that one math course, will UCSD rescind your TAG agreement? Or will it still transfer, and you can make up the grade next semester, such as winter or spring? Please let me know, thanks.

Also, do UCB and UCLA look at your major prereq GPA as well as your overall GPA, or just the overall?

Rescind, all courses must be completed with a ‘C’ or better. I believe they only look at your major pre-req GPA if you are attempting to transfer into an impacted major; otherwise, overall GPA is all they will be looking at.

im sorry but if my pre requisite math classes are calculus 1 and 2 for my major do i need to complete both of them by the end of the following fall semester? so for instance do i need to complete both 1 and 2 by the end of fall 2011? or is it as long as i complete one math class that fullfils the igetc?

What’s your major and which UC are you looking to TAG with?? You need to check the specific terms for that exact major.

i wanna tag with ucsd with the economics major

[Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) 2010-2011](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/transfer/tag.html)

Economics isn’t impacted at UCSD, so as long as you’ve met all requirements for IGETC, GPA, etc., you should be okay.

o ok thank you so much predictthisflick! also

Both of the UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall 2009, prior to Fall 2010 admission.

this means i just need to finish english 1 and english 2 and a college math class such as pre calculus that fulfills the igetc right?

there are cal1 cal2 cal3 for econ major and also engl 1A, and engl 5 ( Econ in ucsd does NOT need engl 1B).
those are the pre requisite courses that you must complete in Fall 10 prior 2011 Fall admission!!
For the IGETC, you have to complete it and get 60 UC units in spring 11 prior Fall 2011 admission.

I’m going to transfer to ucsd and major in econ too, the ucsd rep told me that econ is the 2nd popular major in ucsd, which i think is competitive.

hope this will help~

im looking at the assit.org site and it has either calculus 20a, 20b, 20c or 10a, 10b, 10c…i wanna do the 10 series but my college doesnt have the class that meets 10c…so DO I HAVE TO complete all math classes before transferring?

Also i rememeber USMC saying most econ majors do not even take calculus at their colleges before transferring so i dunno what to believe…and idunno what english 1a and 1b and 5 is…i just know i need to take eng 1 and 2

Sorry, i was wrong!!
you dont need eng 1B but engl 5!! its on the IGETC form!!(its not about the major but IGETC !!)
its says CSU: 3 courses required, one each from group A,B and C,which are eng1A,5 and Comm 1A or 1B or 44 or 45.
UC: 2 courses required, one each from group A and B which are engl1A and engl 5
Therefore, you need dont even need eng 1B. however, you need MATH 3A 3B 3C, econ1,2, and engl1A and engl5

hmm i guess your english 1A and english 5 translates to english 1 and 2 for me and it says u just need 1 college lv math class for the math section of the igetc…and math 2(pre calculus) will be taken before calculus 1 sooo i guess ill complete the igetc with that…and im really confused if u REALLY do need all 3 calculus’s done before transferring, i think its recommended but not required.

Both of the UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall 2009, prior to Fall 2010 admission.

i think as long as you have 60 uc units and with igetc fulfilled you can transfer.
but for the ucsd tag, you must complete the ca1,2,3.

you need cal 1,2,3 for certain majors only right?
i’m planning to tag ucsd sociology, law and society
and says i only need socio classes

you only need cal for certain majors and sociology doesnt require calculus of any sort…but yeah i doubt that uc math and uc englishes must be completed by fall 2009 is relating to the calculus classes…more of the math class u need for the igetc? we really need someone who went to ucsd like usmcguy to confirm this…

Ok so i’m also applying to UCSD with economics, I had the same problem and ryan2136. So i called the school and they told me I can finish the last part of Calc at UCSD. So it is not necessary to finish all your calc classes before transferring in. The lady said most people dont finish math before transfering so they let them finish it at UCSD.

As long as you finish all your english classes and one math (for example Pre calc) class from your IGETC by fall, you’ll be TAG eligible.

I hope this helps

yup thats what i thought thanks alot lazything
