UCSD Transfer 2014 Waitlist?

@willyz‌, my back up major was nano engineering.

Congrats to everyone who got it…
Do they usually give less financial aid to people who get into UCSD via wait-list or appeal?

@bolandgoo I definitely think so. My aid is TINY at UCSD.

I’m officially declining to UCSD. I can’t afford it. I have a full ride to irvine, and i’m going to just be content

@CENGpers:
■■■■, will that amount remain the same during the whole 2-3 years after transfer?! Or is it possible to change?!(Or is it possible to change right now?)

Any updates guys? Any biol major got off the waitlist? I am getting really worried here =(

@Cyclobutadiene‌ I’m on the same boat.still pending. Looks like are chances are slim

@getmeoffwaitlist‌ fret not. I doubt any acceptance was sent out today. Batch 2 should be tomorrow, if I predicted it correctly.

So tomorrow is batch 2?

i wish it would be the day after tomorrow since applicants are give 3 days to response. that way we get more space.

I think June 7th is the next batch, the second one is usually the largest batch too

Major: CS
Igetc: yes
opt-in waitlist: yes
decision: underreview

Its kind of feel really bad that stuck in waitlist. I opted in like in the end of april, and in the beginning of may, i also submitted an appeal letter, but until now, get nothing from both of them. When i tried to call them, they just said that they r super busy, bla bla bla…

Right, either tomorrow or the 7th.
Can’t wait! Wish all of you best of luck, seriously.

Plus, what ive heard is the first batch is yesterday or the day before yesterday. and then UCSD is waiting for those who get the offer to respond, since they have 3 days to do that, it means that the next batch will after 3 days they release the first batch. Best luck to everyone

That makes sense. So assuming that everyone from the “first batch” responds and accepts, there wouldn’t be a need for a second batch?

@bolandgoo‌
I got a cal grant B that pays for my tuition plus ucsd gave me a grant for a few more thousand and my pell grant, plus some work study. The rest is loans if I want to take them out. That’s just mine, but it is similar to offers I had from other schools that I was accepted at in the first place.

@frankthetank1 Someone here says last year it was 4,6,8th of june last year so I don’t think that’s how their system works

@Winklez: Cool, cuz my EFC is zero, so every penny counts lol

@bolandgoo‌
Same as me. So you should be good as long as you submitted all your fafsa stuff. Did you check the csac website to see if you were awarded a cal grant?

If you were accepted to UCSD off the waitlist already then you should have a provisional offer of financial aid in your myapplication portal. But the fin aid office at ucsd told me the legit offers come through tomorrow(6/6)

I checked the csac website, I have Cal Grant B, but would all of it go to me even if I get in after my appeal get accepted?! and how about Pell Grant and Loans?! I have friends who got into UCSD and UCI, and they all got lower FA for UCSD…I got a good one for UCI, so it’d be hard to decline UCI for UCSD if they don’t offer me a good FA package.
I have not been accepted yet(not even on wait-list) I had a situation, and they’re looking at my appeal again…there might be a chance! I was just wondering how my FA package would be like!

Received an email saying that I was accepted through waitlist on June 5th at 3:28 PM
GPA: 3.14
Major: Political Science
Accepted: UCI, UCD, UCSB, SJSU, UCSD
Pending:
Rejected: UCLA, SDSU
I think that my extra curriculars, personal statement, and waitlist essay carried me

To be honest I didn’t think I would make it off the waitlist with my low gpa. Everyone saying that the gpa cutoff was 3.3-3.4 got me really discouraged. This post is dedicated to the ones who think they won’t make it with their low gpa. Don’t be put down by anyone on these threads, anything can happen and good luck to those who are still waiting!
