<p>@bhav007:
Shoot that’s going to be tough…I have some negative feelings toward UCSD for all the games they played with me(and I’m sure you are disappointed that they kept you waiting so long and then offered you much less than other universities for FA) but if I get into UCSD, I would decline my SIR to UCI…I wouldn’t care to get some loan and go where I know I’ll enjoy my time more for the next 2-3 years…the ONLY thing I like about UCI is better housing.
But I remember you said you visited UCD and you really liked it…so, if you think you would enjoy your time there as much as UCSD, go for it…
@sherry119:
I emailed them. did you and @DanielDu send them your foreign transcript when they asked you around March?</p>
<p>@bolandgoo, what do you think about ranking/reputation? It’s the main reason why I’m still having thoughts about UCSD. I mean, Davis is still a good school for Computer Science isn’t it?</p>
<p>@Bolandgoo Well, I understand your frustration, but remember, It was one moron administrator, one really ■■■■■■■■ administrator.</p>
<p>@sherry119 so did you get accept this year</p>
<p>@bhav007:
I don’t care about “reputation”, but UCSD is definitely better in CS(curriculum, internship opportunities etc.), almost everyone in the field knows about UCSD. Many good companies around SD hire from UCSD ( my friend got a job at Qualcomm last year, he’s very smart tho ), so job opportunity and salary would be better if you go to UCSD. I don’t think it is the same around Davis.
However, I think if a student in CS field graduates from UCR(no offense to those going there) but knows his stuff and does research and internship(there’s really so much opportunities in ALL US universities, especially when I compare it to universities in Iran, even SMC is better than many universities worldwide lol) and make good use of his time and actually learn something and do projects blah blah, then he’ll have a better future than most CS students these days who are only choosing the major because of the better job opportunities after graduation, and then they fail to even do their class homework cuz they have no interest. I know employers could not care less about where a candidate graduated from, they look at what he did and what he learned during his time at college.
I feel like I’m going off-topic…I’m too tired lol…you know what I mean, if you know what you’re doing and you believe in yourself, then it doesn’t matter where you go.
SIR to UCSD now and then think well for a month or so, then decline one of them… few hours? you might do something that you regret later.
@collegedropout1: LOL really…I’ve been wasting my time with him all this time…sending him a full page letter, receiving a one line answer… if I go to UCSD, I will haunt him down and…do something to him lol</p>
<p>Can anyone tell me the admission contract for UCSD? I know that you have to finish with 3.0 cumulative, but I am not sure of anything else.</p>
<p>@sherry119 i did submit the transcript when they ask</p>
<p>@DanielDu Got waitlisted this year for UCSD and ucla…</p>
<p>@bolandgoo I have provided my foreign university information and the transcript at the very beginning of the application. Just filled out at the uc website</p>
<p>@bolandgoo Could you tell me the contact email? </p>
<p>So it’s the 7th, any bio majors hear back yet? And what time did the people from the first batch hear from UCSD about the decision?</p>
<p>Best of luck to everyone!</p>
<p>If we hear back today it’ll be around mid-afternoon I think, otherwise probably Monday.</p>
<p>@Sykkennedy People who heard back on the 4th received emails around noon or at 3:16pm. According to previous posts. Check pages 17-20</p>
<p>@DanielDu @sherry119: damn you guys provided the transcript and they still didn’t accept you?! I guess I don’t have any chance then lol…contact : <a href=“mailto:transferinfo@ad.ucsd.edu”>transferinfo@ad.ucsd.edu</a></p>
<p>@bolandgoo Are you referring to appeal? Or just waitlist? I didn’t know we were allowed to submit supplmental info/document for waitlist process.</p>
<p>@bolandgoo, thanks for the comment. So, I think I’m going to go to UC Davis. I know how you mentioned UCSD is well known especially in the SD area, but I live in the bay area, where I’m trying to get a job, so in that case UC Davis is still a good choice (well not as good as UCSD, but my academic performance matters too).</p>
<p>@CollegeDropout1, have you decided where you’re going yet? I still have yet to SIR to UCSD if I suddenly decide to go. Lol.</p>
<p>@darren808: appeal
@bhav007: Hey , there’s more to choosing a school than just reputation…as I said before, I like to go there more because of the the city San Diego, I like to live there for the next 2-3 years more than Orange County…I’ve been living in LA for three years and need to get away from all the tension here :)…I love La Jolla and I have many friends there who can help me out…other than that, I don’t really care about the school and its CS program itself. I know wherever I end up I’ll be fine(EGO!lol). I’m sure you’ll be fine too. Best of luck.</p>
<p>Anyone hear back??</p>
<p>Still nothing :(</p>
<p>Nothing here either. I think we may have to wait until Monday.</p>
<p>Sigh… prey that I get into my dream school as a Bio major!
Cant wait for monday!!</p>
