Does anyone happen to have any statistics on transfer students at San Diego?
Avg GPA, percent admitted, etc.

I got accepted today and they had a FAQ's page:

Q: How many applications did UCSD receive, and how many students were admitted?

A: UC San Diego received approximately 10,000 transfer applications for Fall 2008 with an enrollment goal of approximately 1,600. Enrollment goals are established annually. The campus does not select students on the basis of academic major or choice of UCSD undergraduate college.

Hope that's a little useful :D

1600 is goal for SD(students to enroll) actually admit rate is like 65percent or so... not that hard

according to my math that means they admitted over 6,000 people. LOL

yah they actually admit many ppl....

65% is A LOT, compared to CAL's 26.1%

yupz! Cal should raise the admit rate for this year just becuz we are applying

lol you are saying that the 4900 ppl use UCSD as a backup?

No, I think UCSD was meant for reassurance.

Damnit CAL, lemme in. I wanna hang out with the ugly people.

irvine is about 70, san diego about 60, and berkeley is about 25. damn that is not reassuring even for people who got into irvine and san diego.

I could be very mistaken and may just be tripping out but it says in the UCSD admitted students FAQs that UCSD received approximately 10,000 applications for transfer this year with a goal of approximately accepting 1,600. This would mean the UCSD had an acceptance rate of 16%. I know that is not possible going from a 62% acceptance rate to a 16%. Now is my math just wrong or do you think that UCSD was lying about how many students they were looking to accept. (They accepted 5,313 in Fall of 07)

The 1,600 is an enrollment goal not the amount of people accepted.

Ohhh duhhh idiot. (speaking to myself)
